A Little About Jack

Jack, a native and resident of Worcester, Massachusetts, turned Professional in 1972. He became a member of the PGA of America on June 1, 1976 and on September 28, 1987 became the 38th Master Professional in the PGA of America and the first Master Professional in the New England PGA Section. In 2001 He became a Quarter Century member of the PGA of America. In March 2010, Jack became a TPI (Titleist Performance Institute) Certified Golf Instructor. Jack has been a Head Golf Professional at three clubs over a thirty-six year span; managing the club’s golf program, organizing club tournaments, merchandising the pro shop, offering golf instruction via private golf lessons, group clinics and junior programs and providing service to the membership. His three head professional positions have been at Rochester (NH) Country Club, Tatnuck Country Club in Worcester and the Dublin (NH) Lake Club.

Jack has served the New England PGA Section in many capacities: twice for three year terms as a Vice President from Central Massachusetts, a two year term as Secretary-Treasurer, a two year term as President and a two year term as Honorary President. He has served on numerous NEPGA Committees most notably on the Tournament Committee for thirteen years and has served on four PGA of America Committees and Task Forces and is currently a member of the National Instruction Committee. Jack also served as an officer in the NEPGA Assistants Association and as a Board Director member, Tournament Chairman and President of the New Hampshire Chapter of the NEPGA.

In 1991 Jack was named the NEPGA Section Teacher of the Year and NEPGA Section Professional of the Year in 1993. As a player he has won the NEPGA Pro-Lady Championship with his wife, Mary, on six occasions, the NEPGA Senior-Junior Championship three times and the NEPGA Pro-Pro Stroke Play Championship, the NEPGA Pro-Pro Match Play Championship and the NEPGA Pro-Superintendent on one occasion each. In 2004 Jack secured his biggest win capturing low professional honors in the Sam Sylvia Nantucket Boys and Girls Club Pro-Am, the NEPGA biggest one-day Pro-Am, at Sankaty Head GC.

Jack is a graduate of Worcester (MA) Polytechnic Institute (WPI) with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He was a member of the WPI Golf Team serving as Captain in his senior year. Jack is married with three sons. His wife, Mary, is a former Massachusetts Women’s Amateur Champion and a two time New Hampshire Women’s Amateur Champion and competed in the US Women’s Open. Jack has had twenty-six golf-related articles published in magazines including PGA Magazine, Inside Worcester, Golf Pro Merchandiser, The Golf Club, Golf Shop Operations, Worcester Magazine, North Magazine, The Country Club, Insurance Conference Planner, New England Golf and the NEPGA Annual Magazine. Jack has written golf tips and golf lessons in the Boston Globe being published on seventy-three occasions.

Currently, Jack teaches many students and gives numerous golf lessons in Dublin, New Hampshire and Worcester, Massachusetts. If you are looking for a great teacher in the New England and Northeast areas, look no further!
